So excited to announce that my debut album kairos is out now! Let me tell you all about it.

The Album

While writing this album, I've been struggling with the concepts of time and fate. I've always had questions like:

"Am I too late?"

"Am I where I'm supposed to be?"

"Did I make the right choice?"

These questions and insecurities became the building blocks for the songs on this album.

The Title

Kairos is a Greek word for time. A rough translation would be "a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action" or "the opportune and decisive moment." I got this concept from the idea of the kairos circle. To explain it simply, picture the X as an event in your life. The way you respond to this moment can set you on a brand new trajectory.

I've had a lot of these "kairos moments" over the past couple years. Moving out, changing jobs, playing an open mic night, joining Threads, submitting a song to DemoNation, the list goes on. Each of these moments has affected me and changed my life in one way or another.

The Artwork

It might be a bit on the nose, but an hourglass was the first thing I thought of for the album art. Honestly, I just think they're neat. What really tied the whole concept together was the red string. (pun fully intended) I got this concept from one of my favorite movies of all time, Your Name, which uses this red string as a symbol of fate. The final track on the album "The String" will clue you in there.

Album artwork was done by the incredibly talented Jordan King with Gloom and Glory Creations (@gloomandglory_creations) He helped bring this vision to life and represented the album beautifully.

The Sound

After my first EP which was more acoustically driven, this album was a bit of a discovery process in figuring out what I wanted MY sound to be. I wanted to go faster, to be more catchy, to be heavier, but to still have room to slow it down and bring out those sadboi vibes. I think I've just about got it covered on this album from upbeat pop-punk to acoustic ballads.

This album was entirely recorded, produced, mixed and mastered by me, Jeremy Abrams out of my home studio, Banditfox Studios.

I really do think Threads is pretty special. I wouldn't have half the fans and followers I have, wouldn't have the opportunity for amazing remote collaborations that I do, and even though we're usually separated by at least one ocean, I feel like we'd genuinely be friends if we met in person. I am looking for singers or bands who find my demos compelling and want to inject their style and musicianship to record them. I made a playlist of songs I would love to hear performed by a person, although I have lots more and in different genres. I included it below.

I love lyrics that can be taken in may directions. I have one set of lyrics that I made 7 songs from. I have included that below as well to get a sense of genre variety.
